Vol. 498 No. 5

Written Answers. - Army Lands.

Paul Bradford

Question:

101 Mr. Bradford asked the Minister for Defence if his Department has full title to the lands at Fermoy, County Cork, on which Fitzgerald Camp is situated; the total acreage of this land; and the proposals, if any, he has in this regard. [28060/98]

The lands vested in the Department of Defence at Fitzgerald Camp, Fermoy, comprise approximately 21 acres, the title to which is retained on a freehold basis.

A 999 year lease is in place in respect of part of the camp's existing entrance area. The question of obtaining freehold title to this small area of approximately one acre is being progressed.
