Question:

119 Mr. Ring asked the Minister for Agriculture and Food the reason incorrect information was given regarding a person (details supplied) in County Mayo and his cattle headage grant in view of the fact that Deputy Ring was first told his area aid had been processed and any payments due would issue as soon as possible, only then to be told that difficulties had arisen; and if his Department will investigate this matter urgently. [27954/98]

As stated in previous replies on 10 November and 1 December 1998, the person named was cleared for payment. However, it was one of a small number of cases where an IT systems error occurred. This error has now been rectified and the cattle headage payment will issue in the next payment run.
