Vol. 499 No. 1

Written Answers. - Hospital Funding.

Trevor Sargent

Question:

129 Mr. Sargent asked the Minister for Health and Children if he will report on the funding towards the provision of new services and facilities at Tullamore General Hospital in 1999; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [1630/99]

I have made additional funding of £3.59 million available to the Midland Health Board in respect of its acute hospital services in 1999 and this increased allocation will enable the board to meet the cost of approved service developments in its acute hospital programmes during the year.

In relation to capital development, the position is that a project team on the development of Tullamore General Hospital is currently examining this matter.
