Vol. 499 No. 2

Adjournment Debate Matters.

I wish to advise the House of the following matters in respect of which notice has been given under Standing Order 21 and the name of the Member in each case: (1) Deputy Deenihan – the need to introduce a new emergency fodder scheme for farmers in view of the inadequacy of the scheme introduced last October and the hardship being experienced by thousands of farmers; (2) Deputy Gormley – the need for a remedial teacher at St. Brigid's school, Haddington Road, Dublin 4; (3) Deputy Shortall – the urgent need to grant generous tax designation to Ballymun in order to ensure its future economic viability; (4) Deputies Clune and Coveney – the need to consult local community groups and to undertake an immediate independent assessment of the potential uses for the land at Murphy's Barracks, Cork; (5) Deputy Broughan – the urgent need to introduce major measures to end the life-threatening menace of joyriding on the north side of Dublin.

The matters raised by Deputies Clune and Coveney, Deenihan, Shortall and Gormley have been selected for discussion.
