The issue of funding for Headway Ireland and in particular for its wave programme has been the subject of discussions between officials of my Department and representatives of Headway. Headway have been advised that funding for organisations providing services for people with disabilities is a matter in the first instance for the relevant health boards. I am advised that Headway has been in direct contact with the health boards about its funding requirements. I further understand that Headway is currently carrying out a review of all its programmes and support services. The outcomes of this review will impact on the organisation's future structures and funding requirements.
