230 Mr. Perry asked the Minister for Health and Children if a person (details supplied) in County Sligo will be called for an operation in view of the fact that he is on the list for some time; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [2410/99]

Minister for Health and Children (Mr. Cowen):

The provision of medical treatment in this case is the responsibility of the voluntary hospital concerned. I have asked the chief executive of the hospital to investigate this case and to reply to the Deputy directly as a matter of urgency.
