Question:104 Mr. Wall asked the Minister for Social, Community and Family Affairs the plans, if any, he has to reach the targets for the community development programme outlined by the social partners in Partnership 2000. [2628/99]

I announced yesterday the first phase, 17, of the 30 new areas to be proactively targeted for expansion of the community development programme, as provided for under Partnership 2000. The 17 new areas cover six regions, that is, all regions except the southern and eastern regions. The process of identifying the priority areas for these regions has taken longer than expected and I anticipate I will be in a position to announce the list for these regions next month.
