159 Mr. Perry asked the Minister for Agriculture and Food if a person (details supplied) in County Sligo will be granted a suckler cow quota in view of the fact that she needs additional quota to make her farm viable; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [2443/99]
An application for an allocation of suckler cow quota from the 1999 national reserve has been received from the person named. Some 4,000 farmers have applied for an allocation of suckler cow quota from this reserve. These application forms are presently being recorded and it is not possible to say at this stage what the outcome of any individual application will be. It is expected that all applicants will be informed by the end of February of the outcome of their applications.
