Michael Moynihan

Question:

173 Mr. M. Moynihan asked the Minister for Agriculture and Food when outstanding beef premium payments will be made to a person (details supplied) in County Cork. [2481/99]

The person named submitted three applications for ten month special beef premium and one application for 22 month special beef premium, in respect of a total of 27 animals, under the 1998 scheme.

The 80 per cent advance payment has issued in respect of two of the ten month applications, those received in February 1998 and May 1998. The third ten month application and the 22 month application were not submitted until November and, therefore, allowing for the regulatory two month retention period, are not due payment until February 1999 at the earliest.

Dinny McGinley

Question:

174 Mr. McGinley asked the Minister for Agriculture and Food when payment of a fodder allowance will be made to a person (details supplied) in County Donegal. [2482/99]

In order to qualify under the 1998 winter fodder scheme a producer must be resident and have a herd number in one of the designated DEDs. The DEDs were designated on the basis of an examination by Teagasc of areas most affected by the bad weather.

As the person named did not fulfil this criteria he did not qualify under the 1998 winter fodder package.
