Vol. 499 No. 4

Written Answers. - Schools Refurbishment.

Róisín Shortall

Question:

165 Ms Shortall asked the Minister for Education and Science when the necessary repair work will be carried out in Scoil Chaitríona, St. Mobhí Road, Glasnevin, Dublin 9, in view of the long delay in commencing the work and the fact that officials from his Department have indicated that the work is necessary; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [3021/99]

My Department is currently considering a report from Scoil Chaitríona regarding repair works to the school. The schools architect has recently submitted an additional report directly to the building unit of my Department, with a view to the prioritisation of these works.

When the recent report has been considered, officials in the planning and building unit will contact the school authorities with a view to progressing priority works.

The question of these works proceeding will be considered in the light of available resources and competing priorities.
