98 Mr. Yates asked the Minister for Agriculture and Food if a late application for a suckler cow premium quota from the national reserve will be allowed for a person (details supplied) in County Wexford in view of the fact that he wrote to the local district office well before the deadline and was not advised of the time limit for applications. [2885/99]
The closing date for receiving applications to the 1999 national reserve for suckler cow quota was 8 January 1999.
An application was received from the person named on 22 January 1999 and cannot therefore be accepted.
The person named did write to the district livestock office in Enniscorthy on 7 December 1998 requesting an application form, and one was sent to him on the following day, 8 December 1998.
The closing date is clearly shown on each application form.
