I wish to advise the House of the following matters in respect of which notice has been given under Standing Order 21 and the name of the Member in each case: (1) Deputy Hayes – the need for the Minister for Education and Science to provide additional educational facilities for St. Killian's Senior School, Kingswood, Tallaght; (2) Deputy Creed – the urgent need for the Department of Education to sanction the proposed extension to St. Mary's Secondary School, Macroom; (3) Deputy Deenihan – the need to discuss the inconvenience and hardship being experienced by many Kerry mothers who are forced to travel to hospitals outside of the county to give birth because of the lack of an adequate epidural service at Tralee General Hospital, County Kerry; (4) Deputy Ring – the need for the Minister for Environment and Local Government to provide funding for the Westport sewerage scheme and to put this project out to tender in 1999; (5) Deputy Stanton – the need for the Minister for the Environment and Local Government to make funding available to enable stabilisation works to be carried out in Cobh, County Cork, because of the serious danger caused to public safety by landslides; (6) Deputy Upton – the need for the Minister for the Environment and Local Government to examine the reform of local government in Dublin, to include such aspects as an elected lord mayor and ward councils; (7) Deputy Rabbitte – the urgent need for the Minister for Enterprise, Trade and Employment to ensure that the Protection of Young Persons (Employment) Act, 1996, is fully enforced in relation to the employment of schoolgoing students; (8) Deputy Gerard Reynolds – the need to provide the necessary capital funding for the building of two extra classrooms at Ransboro National School, County Sligo; (9) Deputy Shortall – the urgent need for the Minister for Enterprise, Trade and Employment to ensure that the Protection of Young Persons Employment Act, 1996, is fully enforced in relation to schoolgoing students; (10) Deputy Proinsias De Rossa – The urgent need for the Government to make high level representations to the EU Commission to ensure the retention of duty free sales facilities, following the publication of a special report which accepts that 20,000 jobs are now at risk; (11) Deputy Michael Kitt – the question of funding for transport of people from the Western Health Board area to hospitals in Dublin; (12) Deputy Enright – the need for the Minister for Arts, Heritage, Gaeltacht and the Islands to enter into discussions with the Independent Radio and Television Commission regarding the provision of an adequate morning news and current affairs service on the national television channels in view of the fact that the only breakfast news available in the State at present is provided by foreign channels; (13) Deputy Broughan – the urgent need to amend the guidelines relating to national lottery capital programme funds to allow for full funding of projects in very deprived urban areas.
