Vol. 500 No. 4

Written Answers. - Tax Rebates.

Willie Penrose

Question:

229 Mr. Penrose asked the Minister for Finance if an income tax rebate will be paid immediately to a person (details supplied) in County Westmeath; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [4032/99]

I am informed by the Revenue Commissioners that following a review of the taxpayer's income tax liability for the current tax year 1998-99 it has been established that she is due a refund of £309.94. A cheque for this amount issued to her on 15 February 1999.

If the taxpayer remains unemployed for the remainder of this tax year she may apply to the Inspector of Taxes for further refunds of tax at the end of each four week period from 12 February to 5 April 1999.
