Adjournment Debate Matters.

I wish to advise the House of the following matters in respect of which notice has been given under Standing Order 21 and the name of the Member in each case: (1) Deputy Killeen – the need to ensure that Shannon Airport's role in balanced regional development in the west is not undermined in the quest for strategic partners for Aer Lingus; (2) Deputy Timmins – the need to discuss the delay in providing the DART service to Greystones; (3) Deputy Hayes – the need for the Minister for Education and Science to provide additional education facilities for St. Killian's senior school, Kingswood, Tallaght; (4) Deputy Creed – the urgent need for the Department of Education and Science to sanction the proposed extension to St. Mary's secondary school, Macroom; (5) Deputy Sargent – the need for the Minister for Health and Children to immediately end the practice of adding fluoride to the water supply; (6) Deputy Ring – the need for the Minister for Agriculture and Food to confirm why a person (details supplied) has not received his cattle headage cheque for 1998; (7) Deputy Clune – the need for more investment in Cork's city and suburban bus routes; (8) Deputy Jim Higgins – the urgent need for the Minister for Justice, Equality and Law Reform to implement the recommendations of the review group on the probation and welfare service in relation to an increase in the number of probation officers; (9) Deputy Lawlor – the provision of a permanent library for Lucan now that South Dublin County Council has lodged a full set of revised proposals and has formally expressed its satisfaction with the favourable rental terms for the proposed premises at Esker shopping centre; (10) Deputy Broughan – the urgent need to amend the guidelines relating to the national lottery funded capital programme to allow for full funding of projects in deprived urban areas; (11) Deputy Shortall – the need for the Minister for the Environment and Local Government to publish national guidelines for the granting of planning permission for child care facilities; (12) Deputy Crawford – the need for the Minister of Agriculture and Food to extend the fodder scheme to cover dry stock and deer farmers; (13) Deputy Enright – the need to allocate additional resources to investigate further the many unsolved cases of disappeared young women,particularly in the light of a further abduction in County Kildare.

The matters raised by Deputies Timmins, Crawford, Enright and Broughan have been selected for discussion.
