My Department is currently preparing outline legislation on cryptography and electronic signatures for publication before the end of the year. This legislation will seek to address the security of electronically transmitted messages and the issue of electronic signature validation for all aspects of e-commerce.
Of course it is ultimately a matter for those transmitting electronic data to take the necessary security measures.
