365 Mrs. B. Moynihan-Cronin asked the Minister for Justice, Equality and Law Reform the estimated value of drugs recovered by the gardaí in each county; the number of court cases resulting; the number of convictions in each of the years from 1996 to 1998; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [5174/99]
I am informed by the Garda authorities that statistics are not available in the format requested by the Deputy. It is, however, possible to supply data as follows for the years 1996 and 1997.
The Garda authorities have informed me that these statistics are not yet available for 1998. However, I will arrange for this information to be forwarded to the Deputy as soon as it becomes available.
