Vol. 500 No. 7

Written Answers. - Grant Payments.

John Perry

Question:

222 Mr. Perry asked the Minister for Agriculture and Food if a beef payment will be released for a person (details supplied) in County Sligo in view of the fact that he made an error on the animal's date of birth; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [4844/99]

The person concerned submitted a ten-month special beef premium application in respect of four animals on 5 August 1997. Three of the animals have been paid in full. In the case of the fourth animal, LDZQ0002J, the date of birth entered on the application form – April 1996 – is inconsistent with the date of birth registered on the Bandon database – May 1996. The person concerned was written to on 15 May 1998 with a view to resolving this matter. However, we have had no response to date. Payment on the animal in question can only issue when the date of birth on the cattle identity card is consistent with the date of birth on the Bandon database.

The area aid application of the person named was submitted with a commonage plot included but without any map for reference.
