Vol. 501 No. 2

Business of Dáil.

There are two Members present who tabled matters on the Adjournment, but the Minister present will not be replying to those matters.

If I am permitted to proceed, I will speak slowly.

It will fall on deaf ears.

The Minister for Education and Science will reply to the Deputy's matter and to the matter tabled by Deputy Hayes. Therefore, it is not possible to take the Deputy Rabbitte's matter now. It is now 4.48 p.m., three minutes after the time allocated for raising matters on the Adjournment, and there is a limit on the time the House should wait for Members who tabled matters on the Adjournment. I am willing to take the matters tabled by Deputies Rabbitte and Hayes and in the interim somebody might notify the Minister for Education and Science.

I am obliged to the Chair.

Is the House agreeable to take the matters tabled by the two Deputies first? Agreed.

I seek clarification from the Chair. Will the Minister for Health and Children reply to the matter I tabled?

No, the Minister for Education and Science will reply to it. Deputy Browne (Carlow-Kilkenny) has arrived. I will take the matter he tabled as it is first on the list and the Minister for Health and Children is present to reply to it.
