363 Mr. U. Burke asked the Minister for Education and Science the plans, if any, his Department has to introduce fortnightly pay for second level teachers from 1 March 1999; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [6032/99]
My Department hopes to introduce fortnightly pay for teachers employed in secondary, community and comprehensive schools in April this year. The Deputy will appreciate that this is a major administrative undertaking.
Payment of salary to teachers employed in the vocational sector is a matter for the relevant vocational education committee.
