Vol. 501 No. 6

Written Answers. - Hospital Services.

Michael Ring

Question:

220 Mr. Ring asked the Minister for Health and Children if his attention has been drawn to the fact that the isotope bone scan machine is out of order at Merlin Park Hospital, Galway, and that out patients cannot use the machine at the University College Hospital due to constraints of staff and equipment except for emergencies (details supplied); when the isotope machine at Merlin Park will be replaced; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [6651/99]

The provision of medical services in this instance is the statutory responsibility of the Western Health Board. I have asked the chief executive officer of the board to investigate the position in relation to this matter and to reply to the Deputy directly.
