Vol. 501 No. 6

Written Answers. - Sports Capital Programme.

Bernard Allen

Question:

371 Mr. Allen asked the Minister for Tourism, Sport and Recreation the steps a club (details supplied) in County Cork has to take to draw down the grant allocated to it in 1997. [6687/99]

A grant of £6,000 was allocated to the club in 1997 under the Sports Capital Programme. In line with standard procedures, payment of the grant is subject to the club providing specific documentation and information confirming that the proposal complies with the terms and conditions of the programme. My Department wrote to the club in November 1998 requesting the outstanding documentation required in order that the grant may be formally confirmed. The club has not responded to this letter to date. As soon as the documentation requested is received and found to be in order, payment of the grant will be made.
