405 Mr. Timmins asked the Minister for Education and Science if he received an application from Wicklow VEC in 1995 seeking additional accommodation for Abbey community college, Wicklow town; and, if so, the position regarding the application. [6760/99]
An application for additional accommodation was received from County Wicklow Vocational Education Committee in 1995. Due to the large number of projects requiring funding it was not possible to accommodate this application at the time.
In December 1998 the application was reactivated by the vocational education committee. Officials from the planning and building unit of my Department have been in contact with the VEC regarding the educational requirements of the school. Arising from this a schedule of accommodation is being prepared by my Department and will issue to the VEC in the near future.
