Vol. 502 No. 4

Written Answers. - Irish Fertilizer Industries.

Michael D. Higgins

Question:

60 Mr. M. Higgins asked the Tánaiste and Minister for Enterprise, Trade and Employment the Government's proposals for the future of Irish Fertiliser Industries; and if she will make a statement on the matter. [8329/99]

The State has agreed with the other shareholder, ICI, to seek a joint sale of 100 per cent of Irish Fertilizer Industries. An information memorandum has been issued to interested parties and the closing date for the receipt of proposals is this coming Friday, 26 March. It would not be prudent for me to comment further on this matter until the proposals have been received and fully evaluated by the shareholders.
