Vol. 503 No. 3

Written Answers. - Special Educational Needs.

Liam Aylward

Question:

559 Mr. Aylward asked the Minister for Education and Science if an application by school authorities in County Kilkenny will be reviewed and special arrangements approved in the 1999 junior certificate examination for a person (details supplied) in view of the medical evidence submitted to his Department in November 1998. [9743/99]

The issues raised in the application for special arrangements for the person concerned at the 1999 junior certificate examination are quite complex and are the subject of ongoing contact between my Department and the school.

If the school is not satisfied with the arrangements ultimately proposed by my Department, they will be able to bring the matter to the special arrangements appeals committee.
