Vol. 503 No. 4

Written Answers. - Family Support Services.

Seán Haughey

Question:

138 Mr. Haughey asked the Minister for Health and Children the services and benefits available from his Department and health boards to a lone parent and her family in a situation whereby she has three children, two of whom are aged 24 and four who have cerebral palsy; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [10526/99]

The provision of health services is a matter for the health boards. There is a very wide variety of health and support services available for people with disabilities from the health boards and from voluntary agencies working in the sector who provide services on behalf of the boards. I would advise the Deputy that the person concerned contacts the local community services office of her health board and they will provide the necessary information on services and entitlements.
