Vol. 503 No. 5

Written Answers. - Grant Payments.

Michael Creed

Question:

70 Mr. Creed asked the Minister for Agriculture and Food if a person (details supplied) in County Cork is entitled to benefit under the two fodder schemes; if payment has been made under the first fodder scheme; the amount approved; and the position regarding his entitlement to benefit under the second fodder scheme. [10587/99]

In order to qualify for the 1998 winter fodder scheme a producer had to have a herd number registered in one of the designated DEDs. The DEDs were designated on the basis of an examination by Teagasc of areas most affected by bad weather. As the person named does not have a herd number in one of the designated DEDs he was not entitled to payment under the 1998 winter fodder scheme.

The person named qualifies for a grant of £205 under the 1999 winter fodder scheme and this will be paid shortly.

Michael Ring

Question:

71 Mr. Ring asked the Minister for Agriculture and Food when a person (details supplied) in County Mayo will receive two 1997 ewe premium payments following the death of his mother in view of the fact the cheques were returned to his Department over two years ago to be re-issued and the signed form of indemnity was submitted on 20 March 1998. [10614/99]

Arrangements are being made to have the payable orders reissued to the person named shortly.

Michael Ring

Question:

72 Mr. Ring asked the Minister for Agriculture and Food when a person (details supplied) in County Mayo will receive headage and premia payments and winter fodder aid compensation. [10615/99]

The person named is not the registered owner of the herd number quoted. If the Deputy will provide details regarding a herd number for the person named my Department will examine the matter.

Michael Ring

Question:

73 Mr. Ring asked the Minister for Agriculture and Food when a person (details supplied) in County Mayo will receive the remainder of a 1998 suckler cow premium. [10616/99]

There was a problem on the area aid application of the person named because one of the parcels claimed by this person was also being claimed by another herdowner. Letters accompanied by maps were issued to both herdowners with a view to resolving the dispute. The position has now been clarified and any further payments due will be issued as soon as possible.

Dan Neville

Question:

74 Mr. Neville asked the Minister for Agriculture and Food when brucellosis reactor compensation and a depopulation grant will be paid to a person (details supplied) in County Limerick. [10617/99]

Reactor and depopulation grants were paid to the person named on 19 April 1999. Further grants due to the herdowner in question have now been processed by the local district veterinary office and payment will issue shortly.
