Vol. 503 No. 6

Written Answers. - Tax Certificates.

John Browne

Question:

153 Mr. Browne (Wexford) asked the Minister for Finance the reason there is a long delay in issuing a C2 certificate to a person (details supplied) in County Wexford in view of the fact that as a result of this long delay he will have let some of his workers go. [10998/99]

I am informed by the Revenue Commissioners that the inspector of taxes received an application for a C2 certificate from the taxpayer on 12 March 1999. Further information which the inspector needed to process the application was subsequently requested from the taxpayer's agent.

The agent has supplied the information requested and the inspector has approved the application. Arrangements to issue the C2 certificate have been put in train. It normally takes about two weeks to complete all the necessary arrangements.
