167 Mr. C. Lenihan asked the Minister for Health and Children the measures, if any, he will take with the Departments of Social, Community and Family Affairs and Environment and Local Government in improving the operation of the rent subsidy scheme. [10792/99]
My Department is represented on an interdepartmental committee which is considering the implications of transferring responsibility for the administration of rent and mortgage interest supplements from the health boards to local authorities. The committee is expected to issue its report in the near future.
