Vol. 503 No. 6

Written Answers. - Schools Building Projects.

Jan O'Sullivan

Question:

272 Ms O'Sullivan asked the Minister for Education and Science if phase two of the planning programme for St. Nessan's national school, Mungret, County Limerick, will be sanctioned in view of the fact that the school will have to add to its prefabs in the coming year and planning permission has been granted for this phase of the school's development; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [10768/99]

Phase one of a building project, consisting of a five classroom extension, general purpose room and refurbishments, is currently in progress at St. Nessan's national school, Mungret, County Limerick.

While every effort will be made to ensure that phase two proceeds as soon as possible, I am not in a position to say at this point when construction will start. The prefabs referred to by the Deputy have all been provided since 1990 and are reported to be in good condition.
