Vol. 503 No. 6

Written Answers. - Special Educational Needs.

Bernard J. Durkan

Question:

275 Mr. Durkan asked the Minister for Education and Science if extra hours of tuition will be arranged for a person (details supplied) in County Kildare who attends Scoil Uí Riada, suffers with attention deficit hyperactivity disorder and whose parents are concerned that his long-term education may be curtailed; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [10898/99]

My Department's inspectorate has recently submitted a report on the special educational needs of the child in question. This report is being considered at present and a decision regarding the level of additional support to be provided for the child will be made in the very near future.
