Proinsias De Rossa

Question:

71 Proinsias De Rossa asked the Minister for the Environment and Local Government his views on the Dublin housing review produced by the four local authorities in the Dublin area; the additional resources, if any, which will be made available by his Department to facilitate the proposed programme; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [10837/99]

I regard the strategic review of housing in Dublin prepared by the four Dublin local authorities as a very positive initiative to provide a co-ordinated and strategic response to the housing needs of the Dublin area over the coming years.
A meeting will take place shortly between officials of my Department and the managers to consider the issues arising in the review and the contribution my Department can make to advance the delivery of an appropriate level of housing output in the Dublin region.
