Vol. 503 No. 6

Written Answers. - Rural Environment Protection Scheme.

Ulick Burke

Question:

132 Mr. U. Burke asked the Minister for Agriculture and Food the level of farming activity being carried out on a west Connemara farm by a person (details supplied) in Dublin 7 who is a participant in the REP scheme; the way in which this can be related to previously expressed policy by his Department; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [10995/99]

The person concerned applied for inclusion in the rural environment protection scheme in 1997. A flock number was recently approved for this person and following that the REPS application was deemed to meet the requirements of the scheme. It is not my Department's policy to reveal details of the farming operations of applicants.
