Question:

125 Mr. Creed asked the Minister for Public Enterprise when Ireland will become a contracting party to the European Agreement on the International Carriage of Dangerous Goods by Road (ADR). [11616/99]

Following on the enactment of the Carriage of Dangerous Goods by Road Act, 1998, a memorandum for Government, seeking approval for Ireland's accession to the European Agreement concerning the International Carriage of Dangerous Goods by Road, is currently being prepared by my Department. In accordance with standard practice in relation to international agreements, the memorandum will be brought to Government by the Minister for Foreign Affairs.
