Vol. 504 No. 2

Written Answers. - Eastern Corridor Report.

Phil Hogan

Question:

190 Mr. Hogan asked the Minister for Finance the status of the recent eastern corridor report (details supplied); if the amendments agreed at the instigation of the South Eastern Regional Authority have been accepted; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [11727/99]

The report which the Deputy is referring to is the report prepared by Fitzpatrick Associates, economic consultants on a development strategy 2000-2006 for the southern and eastern region which I am expecting to formally receive today.

The contents of the report, which was commissioned by the groups of regional authorities which will comprise the new southern and eastern region or region in transition, is a matter for the consultants and the regional authorities concerned. The conclusions and recommendations contained in the report will be taken into account by the Government in finalising the national development plan 2000-2006.
