Vol. 504 No. 2

Written Answers. - Speech Therapy Service.

Austin Deasy

Question:

217 Mr. Deasy asked the Minister for Health and Children the number of post primary children awaiting speech therapy in the west Water ford area; and the average waiting period for therapy to commence. [11423/99]

The provision of speech and language therapy services in the west Waterford area is a matter for the South-Eastern Health Board. I have had inquiries made of the board and I understand that there are four post-primary children on the waiting list for these services in that area and that the average waiting time is three years.
