285 Mr. Haughey asked the Minister for Justice, Equality and Law Reform if he will postpone again the transfer of traffic wardens to Dublin Corporation; the role of the Labour Relations Commission in solving this dispute; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [11361/99]

Minister for Justice, Equality and Law Reform (Mr. O'Donoghue):

The Labour Relations Commission is currently holding discussions on this matter with representatives of my Department, the Garda authorities, Dublin Corporation and the traffic wardens' unions.

The Deputy will appreciate that it would be inappropriate for me to comment further at this stage.
