Vol. 504 No. 2

Written Answers. - Missing Persons.

Trevor Sargent

Question:

93 Mr. Sargent asked the Minister for Justice, Equality and Law Reform the discussions, if any, he has had with his French counterpart in relation to the location of the remains of Mr. Séamus Ruddy; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [11516/99]

I have had no direct contact with my French counterpart in relation to this matter. However, both my officials and the Garda authorities have been in contact with the relevant French authorities and I am hopeful that the efforts to locate and recover the remains of the late Mr. Séamus Ruddy, which have been ongoing for some time, will have a successful outcome very shortly.
