Vol. 504 No. 3

Written Answers. - Grant Payments.

Michael Ferris

Question:

38 Mr. Ferris asked the Tánaiste and Minister for Enterprise, Trade and Employment if grants were paid to a company to provide employment in a factory in Carrick-on-Suir (details supplied); if she will give a report on the company; and if she will make a statement on the matter. [11802/99]

Apart from a jobstart grant of £2,000, no other grant payment was made to the company in question.

I am informed by IDA Ireland that the company is purchasing the former Schiesser factory in Clonmel in order to meet the planned expansion requirements of its business. The position in relation to the future of its existing factory at Carrick-on-Suir is under consideration by the company.
