56 Mr. Rabbitte asked the Tánaiste and Minister for Enterprise, Trade and Employment the discussions she has had to date with the social partners on the report of the high level group on trade union recognition; when she will bring legislative proposals to the Government; and if she will make a statement on the matter. [12204/99]

The report of the high level group on trade union recognition has been noted and welcomed by Government and discussions have commenced with the social partners on the implementation of the proposals in the report. Decisions on any legislative initiatives will be a matter for the Government.
