Vol. 504 No. 6

Written Answers. - Grant Payments.

Seymour Crawford

Question:

55 Mr. Crawford asked the Minister for Agriculture and Food the reason a person (details supplied) has not received any hardship money since his herd was tied up in November 1998 with tuberculosis; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [12530/99]

An essential prerequisite for eligibility under the hardship grant scheme is that the holding of the herdowner in question remains restricted following a full herd re-test. The holding of the person named did not remain restricted following the full herd re-test which was completed on 22 April last. Accordingly, the herdowner concerned is not eligible for compensation under the hardship grant scheme.
