81 Mr. Ring asked the Minister for Education and Science when a resource teacher will be appointed to St. Patrick's national school, Westport, County Mayo; if this school qualifies for a teacher under the resource scheme; if a report has been received in his Department on this matter; and if he will make a statement on the matter. I am aware that the school in question has applied to my Department for resource teacher support to cater for children with special needs attending the school. My Department's Inspectorate has been requested to investigate the needs of the school and a decision on what, if any, additional supports are required will be made as soon as the Inspectorates report has been completed.
