Vol. 504 No. 7

Written Answers. - Hospital Services.

John McGuinness

Question:

235 Mr. McGuinness asked the Minister for Health and Children the reason for the delay in arranging an operation for a person (details supplied) in Kilkenny who is on a waiting list in Waterford Regional Hospital; if this case will be expedited in view of the fact that he is four years old and cannot commence his education until his hearing difficulty is regulated; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [12901/99]

The provision of hospital services for eligible persons in County Kilkenny in this instance is the statutory responsibility of the South-Eastern Health Board. I have asked the chief executive officer of the board to investigate the position in relation to this case and to reply to the Deputy directly.
