Vol. 504 No. 7

Written Answers. - Hospital Projects.

Willie Penrose

Question:

240 Mr. Penrose asked the Minister for Health and Children if he has been in contract with the Midland Health Board to communicate the urgency attached to having phase 2B of Longford-Westmeath General Hospital completed; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [12943/99]

My Department is in continuing contact with the Midland Health Board regarding progress on capital developments and the board's priorities for the region. The board's priority general hospital developments at Tullamore and Portlaoise are currently being planned. The priority and timing of the phase 2B scheme at Longford-Westmeath General Hospital will be considered in the context of a review of the Department's medium-term capital programme.
