Written Answers. - Bloodsports and Gaming.

Jim Higgins

Question:

86 Mr. Higgins (Mayo) asked the Minister for Education and Science the reason for the delay in addressing the concerns of the National Association of Regional Game Councils in relation to visits by the Irish Council against Blood Sports to secondary schools in County Laois (details supplied); and if he will make a statement on the matter. [9934/99]

On receipt of a letter from the National Association of Regional Game Councils I arranged to have inquiries made into the subject matter of their concerns. When my inquiries were completed I replied to the council by letter dated 21 April 1999.
