Vol. 505 No. 4

Written Answers. - Flexi-Time Work.

Ruairí Quinn

Question:

144 Mr. Quinn asked the Minister for Arts, Heritage, Gaeltacht and the Islands the plans, if any, in place to increase the availability of flexible working hours within her Department and in agencies under its auspices; and if she will make a statement on the matter. [14017/99]

Flexible working hours are available to clerical, executive and some administrative staff within my Department in those areas where it is administratively feasible. Any extension of the hours within which the system operates will be in accordance with centrally agreed procedures. I do not get involved in the day to day operation of the agencies under the aegis of the Department and I consider flexible working hours to be a matter for the management of the individual agency.
