161 Mr. Perry asked the Minister for Education and Science if his attention has been drawn to the inadequate accommodation facilities at St. Enda's national school, Carraroe, County Sligo, where a new teacher has been appointed and the school has no place to accommodate the teacher; if his attention has been drawn to the fact that this population has grown with the growth and development in the area; if the additional classrooms will be immediately granted; when work will commence; the amount of money allocated; and if he will make a statement on the matter. An application has been received from the manager of Carraroe national school, County Sligo for grant aid towards the provision of additional classrooms. My Department's planning and building unit is currently considering the short and long-term accommodation requirements of the school.

It is not possible at this early stage to say when any works will commence and the question of funding will not arise until a contract has been placed.
