Vol. 505 No. 5

Written Answers. - Water and Sewerage Schemes.

Bernard J. Durkan

Question:

117 Mr. Durkan asked the Minister for the Environment and Local Government if he has received any query from Kildare County Council regarding the progress of the Donadea and Timahoe group water scheme; if his attention has been drawn to the extra funding or other requirements in connection with this scheme; if he has received any notice from the county council outlining the particular needs of this scheme; the response, if any, he has given; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [14195/99]

Kildare County Council has sought European Regional Development Fund co-financing in respect of a number of additional group water schemes, including the Timahoe-Donadea scheme. Commitments on projects already approved for European Regional Development Fund co-financing under the current operational programme are being assessed at present. The Kildare schemes, and those put forward by other local authorities, will be considered in the event of any balance of the European Regional Development Fund funds being available for allocation on completion of the current assessment.
