Vol. 505 No. 5

Written Answers. - Land Boundaries.

Brian O'Shea

Question:

122 Mr. O'Shea asked the Minister for Arts, Heritage, Gaeltacht and the Islands the action, if any, she is taking to ensure that the Office of Public Works will facilitate residents in the Lambourne Estate, Clonsilla, Dublin 15, in relation to the erection of an appropriate fence between the canal bank walk and the green space for Lambourne Park due to the difficulties being encountered by residents owing to under-age drinking and anti-social behaviour; and if she will make a statement on the matter. [14090/99]

The land between the canal bank walk and the green open space at Lambourne Park is in private ownership and, accordingly, my Department has no responsibility for the boundary adjoining the open space at Lambourne Park. The Deputy should note that the responsibility of the Office of Public Works for canals was transferred to my Department in 1996.
