103 Mr. McGuinness asked the Minister for Health and Children if he will have investigations made into the delay in providing an eye operation for a person (details supplied) in County Carlow who is on the waiting list for over a year for Ardkeen Hospital, Waterford; the reason for the delay; and if his case will be expedited. [14179/99]

The provision of medical treatment to eligible persons in County Carlow in this instance is the statutory responsibility of the South-Eastern Health Board. I have asked the chief executive officer of the board to investigate the position in relation to this case and to reply to the Deputy directly.

104 Mr. McGuinness asked the Minister for Health and Children if he will have investigations made into the delay in the case of a person (details supplied) in County Kilkenny who is waiting for a brain scan and an ECE at Crumlin Hospital; and if the case will be expedited in view of its urgency. [14180/99]

The provision of medical treatment to eligible persons in this instance is the responsibility of Our Lady's Hospital for Sick Children, Crumlin. I have asked the chief executive officer of the hospital to investigate the position in relation to this case and to reply to the Deputy directly.
