Vol. 505 No. 5

Written Answers. - Water Charges.

Michael Creed

Question:

115 Mr. Creed asked the Minister for the Environment and Local Government if he will request local authorities to exempt primary schools from payment of water charges. [14128/99]

The setting of water charges for non-domestic customers is a matter for the sanitary authority concerned. I do not consider it appropriate to issue a request to sanitary authorities to exempt any bodies from the payment of such charges.
